She was born Rita Lynn Steeves to parents Hartley and Clare Steeves on August 4, 1940, in Jacksonville, Florida. Graduating from Terry Parker High School in 1958, she went on to earn her bachelor's degree in elementary education from The University of Florida and her master's degree in education from Incarnate Word University. She taught elementary school in Northeast ISD for 25 years before retiring to spend several years touring the country by RV with her beloved husband Claude.
After miraculously surviving a major stroke in 2001, Rita was determined to regain her independence. She re-learned to talk and walk and trained herself to use her left hand to again enjoy drawing and painting portraits, animals, and landscapes. Santa's Workshop
Toys for TotsKen Steeves has been in Santa's workshop making wooding toys. He donated around 200 wooden toys for "Toys for Tots" thru the Orlando Police Dept. and around 200 for "Loaves & Fishes" an organization in Apopka that will serve the children locally. Also giving a basket full to raffle off for a fundraiser for Northland Community Church.
He sent a box of 5 misc. wooden toys to Vance Thompson (see photo on left). Vance is the nephew to Jennie that works with Rich Steeves. Below is Vance's story. March 24th Vance under went his MRI and found this precious baby boy had a tumor in the back of his head. March 30th his parents got the news that Vance's tumor in fact was one of the worse cancer's to have. Their hearts could have stopped beating at this point. April 4th Vance began his first round of chemotherapy. Their precious little boy is such a little trooper and such a little fighter. They take one day at a time and THANK GOD for each day Vance is healthy and in their lives. Click here if you would like to know more about Vance: http://www.caringbridge.org/visit/vancethompson |

END OF SOCCER SEASON 2011
Sydney Wall scored the first goal for her team during the end-of-season soccer tournament. It was a beautiful one-touch shot off of a cross from her teammate. Both tournament games were in penalty kicks... A very exciting day.
THERE'S A NEW DOG IN TOWN
These 3 GoldenDoodle's were brought into the Orange County Animal Shelter last week and all of them were adopted out before the day was over. They are between 6-8 months old. The first one is a baby girl and she was adopted by the family that found all of them. The second one is the new addition to the Fisher Family and his name will be Jake and he goes to his forever home on October, 25, 2011. Their brother is the third young fella and he was adopted at the same time as Jake by a nice family.
Soccer season has begun. Below are a few highlight photo's.

Mitchell Craig turned 11
Mitch's birthday was Monday, Oct. 17, and he loves pancakes so his loving
Grandmom, Gail Bragg used a cake mix in the waffle iron...he couldn't believe it.
She had brought over the extra icing in a baggie and Granddaughter Addie, who loves her icing was happy about that.
Grandmom has too much time on her hands. A waffle cake?
